Registration, payments, refunds, privacy, and participant policies.

Review these policies before registering for a season or tournament. Participant conduct, league rules, communications, and the liability waiver are included below.

General Terms & Payments

Matt's Volleyball provides recreational volleyball seasons and tournaments in the Lake Norman area. Each registration listing describes the format, location, dates, eligibility requirements, and price for that season or tournament. Registration purchases participation in the listed in-person activity; no physical product is shipped.

You must provide accurate registration information, meet the eligibility requirements for your event, and follow the applicable rules and participant policies. Participation is subject to registration confirmation, payment, and acceptance of the applicable participant waiver.

Payments

Season registration and payments go through TeamLinkt. Tournament payments are processed through Stripe. Prices are in U.S. dollars (USD), and the amount due, including any applicable fees, is shown at checkout. By completing payment, you authorize the displayed charge and confirm that you are authorized to use the selected payment method.

Payment information is handled by the payment provider through its checkout. Do not send full card numbers or card security codes by email or through our contact form. Matt's Volleyball handles registration support, billing questions, and refund decisions under the policy below.

Schedules and support

Check the registration listing and league or tournament schedule for when and where to play. Schedule changes and weather announcements are communicated through our event communication channels. See our league rainout information and the cancellation policy below.

For registration questions, an incorrect or duplicate charge, or other concerns, email matt@mattsvolleyball.com with your name, season or tournament, and receipt or registration reference. We will investigate reported billing errors. This process does not limit your rights with your payment provider or under applicable law.

Updates to payment and refund terms apply to registrations purchased after the updated terms are posted, unless otherwise agreed or required by law. Nothing on this page limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

Refunds & Cancellations

To request a refund, email matt@mattsvolleyball.com with your name, season or tournament, and receipt or registration reference. The timing of your request determines eligibility for participant-requested refunds.

Season registrations — TeamLinkt

  • Before the season starts: If you request a refund before the season begins, you will receive a full refund minus the credit card processing fees associated with your original payment.
  • Once the season starts: No participant-requested refunds are available.
  • If we cancel the season: You will receive a full refund, including any credit card processing fees you paid. No credit card processing fees will be deducted.
  • Weather: Weather-affected games are rescheduled. No refunds are provided for weather-related game postponements.

Tournament registrations — Stripe

  • Before the tournament starts: If you request a refund before the tournament begins, you will receive a full refund minus the credit card processing fees associated with your original payment.
  • Once the tournament starts: No participant-requested refunds are available.
  • If we cancel the tournament, including due to weather: You will receive a full refund, including any credit card processing fees you paid. No credit card processing fees will be deducted.

Refunds for a season or tournament canceled by Matt's Volleyball are exceptions to the no-refund rules after the event begins. Removal for misconduct is governed by the Code of Conduct and Anti-Harassment Policy below.

Approved refunds are returned through the original payment provider to the original payment method where supported. The time before funds appear depends on the provider and your financial institution. If the original payment method cannot receive the refund, contact us to arrange an alternative.

Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Matt's Volleyball handles information in connection with this website, season and tournament registrations, payments, and event operations. For privacy questions or requests, email matt@mattsvolleyball.com.

Information and its use

  • Registration and participation: We receive the information you provide for participation, such as your name, email address, phone number, team or event details, and registration records. We use it to administer registrations, coordinate teams and schedules, communicate changes, and manage participation.
  • Payments: We use payment confirmations and transaction records to match payments to registrations, keep accounting records, investigate billing issues, and handle refunds and disputes. Payment providers collect the payment details needed to process your transaction.
  • Messages: Our contact form collects your name, email address, and message through Formspree. We use messages and other correspondence to respond to questions, requests, and reports.
  • Website access: Hosting and content-delivery providers may process technical information such as your IP address, browser information, and requested pages to deliver the website, maintain reliability, and protect against abuse.

Service providers and sharing

We use TeamLinkt for season registration, payments, and league management; Stripe for tournament payments; Formspree for contact-form submissions; and Cloudflare for website hosting and image delivery. These providers handle information needed to provide their services and may process information for their own purposes as described in their privacy policies.

Organizers and night directors use participant information for event operations and the communications described below. Team names, schedules, scores, standings, and champion photos are displayed publicly on this website. The participant image release below addresses event photographs and recordings.

The website loads fonts from Google Fonts and embeds Spotify players on the playlists page. Your browser connects to those providers when their content loads, which exposes technical information such as your IP address and browser details to them. See the Google Privacy Policy and Spotify Privacy Policy.

External services, including TeamLinkt, Stripe, Spotify, GroupMe, and social platforms, have their own privacy practices and may use cookies or similar technologies when you use them. Review their policies and privacy settings. Browser settings can limit cookies, although some provider features may not work without them.

Your choices and requests

Contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information held by Matt's Volleyball. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Records needed for accounting, legal obligations, or unresolved transactions or disputes may need to be retained. Requests about information held independently by a provider may also need to be directed to that provider.

You can ask to stop league communications by emailing us, as described in the League Communications section below. Opting out may limit our ability to notify you of schedule changes or cancellations.

We may update this privacy policy as our services and practices change and will provide additional notice when required by applicable law.

Code of Conduct and Anti-Harassment Policy

I agree to treat all players, teammates, opponents, organizers, and staff with respect, both on and off the court, regardless of their skill level or experience. I understand that this is a recreational, self-officiated league that people join to have fun. I understand that the following conduct is strictly prohibited:

  • Unwanted physical contact of any kind, including touching, grabbing, groping, or deliberately invading another person's personal space.
  • Harassment, intimidation, or discriminatory, demeaning, or sexually suggestive comments, gestures, or behavior.
  • Aggressive, hostile, or demeaning conduct toward other players, including yelling at, berating, or repeatedly arguing with others over gameplay or self-officiated calls. Disagreements are settled calmly and respectfully.
  • Unwanted or persistent contact with another participant outside of league play, through any channel, after that person has not welcomed it or has asked me to stop.
  • Any other behavior that a reasonable person would find threatening, hostile, or offensive.

This standard applies at league events and to any conduct connected to my participation, including contact with other participants outside of scheduled play. I may report a concern confidentially to matt@mattsvolleyball.com; reports are handled discreetly, and retaliation against anyone who reports in good faith will not be tolerated.

If the league determines, at its sole discretion, that I have violated this policy, it may take any action it considers appropriate, up to and including immediate removal from the league and a permanent ban from future participation, with no obligation to provide a refund. I agree to comply with any conduct decision the league makes.

Acceptance of League Rules

I have read the league rules, and agree to follow the posted rules, even if I disagree with said rules.

League Communications

I agree that Matt's Volleyball organizers and night directors may contact me at the phone number and email address I provide during registration for league-related purposes, including schedule and game-day updates, weather cancellations, roster and substitute coordination, RSVP checks, and registration or payment matters. Contact may be by phone call, text message, or email, and message and data rates may apply. I can ask to stop receiving these communications at any time by emailing matt@mattsvolleyball.com, and I understand that opting out may limit the league's ability to notify me of schedule changes or cancellations.

Accident Waiver and Release of Liability

I hereby assume all of the risks participating in Volleyball at Saeed's Bar & Grill, including by way of example and not limitation, any risks that may arise from negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons or entities being released, from dangerous or defective equipment or property owned, maintained or controlled by them, or because of possible liability without fault.

I certify that I am physically fit and have not been advised to not participate by a qualified medical professional. I certify that there are no health-related reasons or problems which preclude my participation in Volleyball at Saeed's Bar & Grill. I acknowledge that this Accident Waiver and Release of Liability Form will be used by the organizers of the Volleyball at Saeed's Bar & Grill in which I may participate and that it will govern my actions and responsibilities at said Volleyball at Saeed's Bar & Grill.

In consideration of my application and permitting me to participate in Volleyball at Saeed's Bar & Grill, I hereby take action for myself, my executors, administrators, heirs, next of kin, successors, and assigns as follows:

  • I WAIVE, RELEASE, AND DISCHARGE from any and all liability, including but not limited to, liability arising from the negligence or fault of the entities or persons released, for my death, disability, personal injury, property damage, property theft, or actions of any kind which may hereafter occur to me including my traveling to and from Volleyball at Saeed's Bar & Grill. THE FOLLOWING ENTITIES OR PERSONS: ALL associated with Saeed's Bar & Grill, and/or their coaches, agents, representatives, or volunteers.
  • I INDEMNIFY, HOLD HARMLESS, AND PROMISE NOT TO SUE the entities or persons mentioned in this paragraph from any and all liabilities or claims made as a result of participation in Volleyball at Saeed's Bar & Grill, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.

I acknowledge that Volleyball at Saeed's Bar & Grill may carry with it the potential for death, serious injury, and personal loss. The risks may include, but are not limited to, those caused by terrain, facilities, temperature, weather, condition of participants, equipment, vehicular traffic, actions of other people including, but not limited to, participants, volunteers, spectators, coaches, and lack of hydration.

I consent and agree that Volleyball at Saeed's Bar & Grill and/or their coaches, agents, representatives or volunteers may take photographs or digital recordings of me as a participant during this event and use these in any and all media for training or promotional purposes. I further consent that my identity may be revealed therein or by description text or commentary. I waive any rights, claims or interest and I understand that there will be no financial or other remuneration.

The accident waiver, release of liability and image release shall be construed broadly to provide a release and waiver to the maximum extent permissible under law.

I CERTIFY THAT I HAVE READ THIS DOCUMENT, AND I FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS CONTENT. I AM AWARE THAT THIS IS A RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND A CONTRACT AND I SIGN IT ON MY OWN FREE WILL.
